What is CareShield Life?
CareShield Life is a mandatory long-term care insurance scheme for Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents (PRs) born in 1980 or later. It provides basic financial protection should you become severely disabled, especially during old age.
You are automatically enrolled into CareShield Life when you turn 30. Premiums are paid annually until the age of 67, but the coverage lasts for your entire lifetime.
How to use this calculator

- 2Select Gender — Women generally pay higher premiums than men because statistics show they have a longer life expectancy and a higher chance of severe disability.
- 3View Premium Cost — See your estimated annual premium. Note that this amount is fully payable using your CPF MediSave account.
- 4Understand Payouts — See the monthly payout you would receive if you are diagnosed with severe disability.
